Mavericks Win Inaugural City League Championship
December 18, 2011 - The Mavericks defeated Loughborough 43-42 in the final of the Kingston Impact's City League tournament.
The Mavericks, coached by Paul Couture and made up mostly of players from St. Martha's Catholic School, entered the 5 team tournament as the #1 seed following their 6-2 regular season.
Loughborough, the #2 seed, coached by Penny Hilliard and composed of players mostly from the Sydenham area overcame a lopsided loss to the same Mavericks team earlier in the day to keep the game close throughout the contest.
