Both Major Atom Girls teams win medals in Picton

January 25, 2017 - The Kingston Impact Major Atom girls teams both participated in the U12 County Classic in Picton this weekend earning gold and bronze in the process.

The Major Atom Girls Finn team finished 3-0 in pool play and then faced Ottawa Next Level in the gold medal game. The girls were up eight points in the final four minutes. Ottawa stormed back to tie it up in the last minute. With twenty seconds left in the game, Impact scored to take the lead back and then held them off on their final possession to secure their first gold medal. The final score was 30-28. All the girls played extremely hard.

The Major Atom Girls Demelo playing in their first tournament of the year captured a bronze medal with a tough 36-26 victory over host Picton County Clippers.

They were 2-1 in pool play while finishing second in pool B. The girls should be very proud of their win using their determination and hard work to succeed throughout the weekend.
