Mega 2015 Recap
March 7, 2015 - A successful basketball weekend was capped off with 4 medal performances by the host Club. With 44 teams in 6 divisions, there was a lot of basketball being played last weekend in Kingston.
In the Major Atom A/AA division, the Ottawa Shooting Stars won the gold medal by narrowly defeating our own Impact team, 23-20. Ottawa was 4-0 with very close round robin wins over Arnprior Valley Pride, and Kingston Impact. Ottawa then defeated the Kanata Cavaliers 33-25 in the semi-final. Kingston Impact went 1-1 in pool play, and then beat Nepean Blue Devils 21-20 in their semi –final. The consolation game featured Arnprior defeating the Prince Edward County Clippers, while the bronze medal went to Kanata, who defeated Nepean 31-24.
In the Major Atom AA/AAA division, a thrilling final was decided in the last minute as the Kingston Impact came back from a 24-16 deficit to edge the Gloucester Wolverines 27-26. Earlier in the weekend, those two teams had a similarly close game, with a different result, as Gloucester came out on top 18-16 in pool play. Belleville Spirits defeated Cornwall Lions 33-22 to capture the bronze medal.
In the Major Bantam A/AA division, the Mississauga Jaguars defeated the Kingston Impact team, 32-21 to win the gold medal. Both teams had come out of pool play at 3-0. In their semi-final games, Mississauga beat the Brockville Blazers 33-21, while the Kingston Impact defeated Ottawa Next Level 25-15, to set up the gold medal final. The consolation game was won by Ottawa Shooting Stars as they triumphed over Ottawa South 30-18. The Bronze medal went to Ottawa Next Level, winning 37-21 over the Brockville Blazers.
The Major Bantam AA/AAA division also featured an exciting final as the Kingston Impact finished the game on a 10-2 run to win 42-36 over the Dawson Community College Blues from Montreal. Dawson came into the final 4-0 in this tournament with double digit wins over the Brockville Blazers, Gloucester Wolverines, and Kingston Cats, as well as a close fought win, 46-40, over Goulbourn. Kingston Impact's record was also 4-0 but featured more close games as they defeated the Belleville Spirits by 6, and Nepean Blue Devils by 5, before coasting to wins over Arnprior Valley and Naismith Gaels. The bronze medal went to Goulbourn who defeated Arnprior Valley 27-22.
The Major Midget A/AA division was won by Ottawa Shooting Stars, who defeated Arnprior Valley Pride 47-24 to win the gold medal. Ottawa Shooting Stars had gone undefeated in pool play, with wins over the host Kingston Impact, as well as Blessed Sacrament, and Arnprior Valley. Capital Xelles had finished atop Pool A with wins over the Belleville Spirits and Gloucester Wolverines, but came up short in the semi -final losing to Arnprior 44-40. Capital Xelles then rebounded with a close win 41-40 over Gloucester to win the Bronze medal. The consolation game was won by Blessed Sacrament, 48-40 over Belleville Spirits.
The Major Midget AA/AAA division was won by the Nepean Blue Devils, who triumphed in a close final 37-33, over the Dawson Community College Blues. Both teams had finished 3-0 in pool play, and won by almost identical scores in the semi-final games. Nepean downed Ottawa South 44-37, while Dawson beat Oakville Vytis 43-37, setting up their final game. The Consolation game was won by the Kingston Impact, defeating the Belleville Spirits, 32-21, and the Bronze medal went to Oakville Vytis who downed Ottawa South 59-26.

Mega Tournament 2018
The Kingston Impact is preparing for our 2018 Mega Tournament. Since its inception in to 2010, the Kingston Impact has had nearly 350 girls teams participate in this tournament from around Ontario and Quebec.
