Major Midget Boys #1 Win Provincial Gold

May 14, 2012 - This past weekend the Kingston Impact Major Midget Boys ( #1 team) captured gold at the Ontario Cup Championship in Ottawa. They defeated Baller Sports #1 in the final by a score of 67-60. And they knocked off the top seed Guelph Phoenix #1 in the semi-final 77-70.

Coaches Kevin Smart and Remy Simpson of St Lawrence College, credit team defense in the victories. It was a successful weekend, where every team member contributed on offence, and sharing turns as leading scorer were players Tanner Graham, Brent Martindale, Carter Matheson, and Duncan Lambert.

In pool play the Impact defeated Etobicoke Thunder 61-53, North Toronto Huskies 51-48, and Scarborough Basketball 77-57.

Team members include: Jonathan Besselink, Sayre Powers, Aidan Stride, Derek Platt, Austin Macklem, Jeremy Pendergast, Keirson Sizer, Carter Matheson, Tanner Graham, Duncan Lambert, Brent Martindale and Aiden Woods.
